PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SEABL WOMEN - Round 2
CATHERINE GUEST – Launceston Tornadoes
Launceston Tornadoes 17 year old youngster Catherine Guest had a sensational game on the weekend and deserves her first ever recognition as Player of the Week. Catherine had a stellar tournament at the Australian U/20 National Championships, and has continued her recent excellent form in the SEABL. Guest didn’t start the game well, and was unable to score in the first quarter, but was a major force on the glass, pulling down 5 rebounds in both the first and second quarters. Guest then turned it on in the third quarter helping her team establish a 59-53 advantage against the Knox Raiders at the three quarter time break as she recorded 8pts and 5rebs and played the entire quarter. Catherine finished the game with a career high in both points and rebounds with 15pts@55%, 21rebs, 3ass and 1blk. Catherine is sure to be a star of the future.

Bendigo Lady Braves continued their winning streak with a 63-52 victory over Kilsyth, thanks largely to the efforts of Gab Richards with 25pts@74%, 12rebs, 1ass and 3blks
Knox Raiders import Ashlee Dunlap had a consistent weekend on the Apple Isle averaging 18.5ppg, 16rpg and 2apg. Dunlap had 13pts and 20rebs in her teams’ 67-76 loss at Launceston on Saturday night.
Jenna O’Hea celebrated her inclusion into the Australian Opals Beijing squad with a solid all-round performance against Albury/Wodonga on Saturday night. Jenna recorded 17pts@63%, 10rebs, 3ass and 2blks, helping the Spectres to a convincing 127-74 victory.
