PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SEABL WOMEN - ROUND 6
NAT HURST – Launceston Tornadoes
Launceston Tornadoes travelled to the mainland this week and thanks largely to the efforts of dynamo guard Nat Hurst, recorded a clean sweep 3-0 record. Hurst earns her second Player of the Week honour this year averaging 26.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.3 assists.
Hurst has gained outright MVP favouritism after a sensational performance this weekend, which included 30pts@56%, 6rebs and 4ass on Friday night in the Tornadoes 81-60 victory against Frankston. Hurst started the game slowly, but with three consecutive three pointers in the third quarter put the game out of reach for the home team. The following day Hurst continued her impressive form against her former club Albury/Wodonga. Hurst scored 25pts@47% including 6 three pointers to help the Tornadoes remain undefeated with an 81-55 victory. Despite playing her third game in less than 48hrs, Hurst guided her team to an impressive 82-77 victory over previously undefeated Nunawading Spectres. Hurst scored 13pts in the opening quarter to give Launceston a 31-17 advantage and finished the game with 25pts@56%, 6rebs and 9ass.
